The team’s goal differential was 23-1 on goals scored and against. The team’s goalies and defense produced 3 shut-outs in 4 matches which resulted in 3 perfect games. The team beat Riverton, Cody, Sheridan and Buffalo in the finals. We are very proud of this group and this team made a statement to the state that we belong in the gold division. The team played amazing soccer and utilized all 18 players to bring home the hardware! Great job and we are Avenger proud!

U-13 Boys Gold: This team was honored to get a shot in the gold division and found out every match would be a challenge. The team lost to Casper and Riverton who made the finals but played with both teams and had their chances. They also played a solid Lander team very close until the last 5 minutes when Lander slipped in 2 great goals at the end. They finished up their last match with Sheridan on all cylinders dominating the match to a 5-2 win. The boys finished 4th out of 5 teams and was in every match. We think they played great for their first time in the gold division. This team will continue to improve and will peak next season!

U-14 Boys Silver: The team started out hot with a 4-1 win against Sheridan in the opening match. The next three matches would be against more skilled and challenging teams. They lost to the eventual tournament champs against Worland 0-3 who has been playing good soccer this spring. They needed to rebound after that match and played a familiar foe against Gillette that is always a close match for them. The game was a nail biter and ended 0-1 to Gillette. They faced Casper in the consolation match and lost 1-5. This team is improving and just needs to find the back of the net.

U-9 Girls Gold: This team did not lose a match all weekend and placed 3rd overall in the state. The team played Laramie to a perfect game 3-0 with the shut out. They then tied Casper red 2-2 with a last minute goal by Casper for the draw. They knew they had to win the last match against a good Cody team and they did 3-1. After 3 matches they were tied with Casper in points and goal differential. This resulted in a penalty shootout to go to the state championship. Avengers fans supported in numbers at the shootout in amazing fashion which they lost 3-4 after 5 kicks each. The team rebounded after an emotional loss and won the third place match 2-1 against Casper black. The girls played awesome and could not have played any better.

U-10 Girls Gold: This team also got a shot at the gold division and played with every team they faced. They tied Sheridan 1-1 out of the shoot and missed some chances to put the game away. They then faced 2 strong teams with Casper black and Gillette the eventual gold champions dropping both matches but playing Gillette to their best to date 0-4. This team played Gillette to the closest match of Gillette's 3 matches. Gillette did not get scored on the entire tourney. They battled in the consolation with Laramie where many penalty kicks were awarded. That ended up the factor to a 2-4 loss.

U-12 Girls Gold: This team always draws a difficult schedule. The first 2 matches were against Casper and Gillette who made the finals. They played Gillette to their personal best 0-3 that won the tourney. And lost a tight match to Casper 0-1 who placed 2nd. After 2 close matches they had a perfect game against Lander with a 6-0 victory and the shut out. That put them in the consolation game where they dominated Gillette white to a 3-0 win and shut out. This team captured 5th place but had the hardest draw playing 2 of the top teams. They were 1 goal away from the finals.

U-13 Girls Gold: This team improved since Sheridan playing teams closer than before. They lost a close match to Cody 0-2 which they had some chances but couldn't find the back of the net. They then played Sheridan who beat them 0-5 in Sheridan to a closer 0-2 match. They were only 1 of 2 teams to even score on the state champions Gillette team. They lost the consolation match to Buffalo but ran out of gas with no subs the entire weekend which is extremely difficult. This team will be in much better position in the fall to be even more successful. They have a never give up attitude!

U-14 Girls Gold: The team started out with a 1-1 draw against the 3rd ranked team in the state against Sheridan which they played extremely well. They then faced Casper who made the finals and played them tough to a 0-2 loss. The girls needed a win in the last match and was up on Buffalo the entire game. They missed a few chances to put the game away and Buffalo tied the match with less than 2 minutes left resulting in a 1-1 draw. They then fired back against Cody in the 5th place match winning 2-1 with no subs on Sunday. The team only lost 1 out of 4 matches and played solid as a team. They did not buckle under exhaustion and played with lots of heart. Coaches were very proud of the determination they showed in their matches.
